Dravyaguna Department

The subject, Dravyaguna Vidnyan, deals with the basic principles of the mode of action of drugs and the detailed study of herbal drugs. According to Charaka, there is nothing on earth that is not medicine. That’s why Ayurveda considers all substances medicine. If used for specific purposes in an appropriate way, the subject also includes the standardization of medicinal plants. The subject has potential in industries, as Dravyaguna experts are required in different fields.

  • Study of herbal plants, including pharmacognosy, pharmacology, and therapeutic uses of the plants.
  • Detailed study of drug properties and uses in various diseases, the right doses, and timing of administration according to Ayurvedic principles.
