Department of Agadtantra

Agadtantra is one of the eight recognized branches of Ayurveda. The Department of Agadtantra deals with forensic medicine, toxicology, and medical jurisprudence. It focuses on the diagnosis, management, treatment, and prevention of diseases caused by toxins, poisons, and dangerous substances. This department plays a critical role in ensuring public health and safety by providing Ayurvedic knowledge in toxicology and emergency care.

Forensic medicine plays an important role in the use of medical and paramedical knowledge in courts of law. Medical jurisprudence plays an important role in applying knowledge of the law to the practice of medicine.

Faculty

The department consists of 1 professor, 1 associate professor, and 1 assistant professor. Faculty members are well trained and experienced in modern as well as Ayurvedic principles of the subject. These experts provide theoretical and practical guidance to students, mentor research activities, and contribute to the overall growth of the department.

It ensures that students gain comprehensive knowledge and skills to effectively manage toxicological emergencies, contribute to public health, and advance the field of Ayurveda.

  • Public Health: Train students to manage toxicological emergencies, educate the community on preventing toxic exposures, and create awareness about household poisons and antidotes.
